About this project

Chuck D's universe is big: a magazine, a book imprint, a video channel, a record label group, two radio platforms. RapCentralStation.net brings it under one navigable roof — Sight · Story · Sound — connecting RapCentralStation Magazine, Enemy Books, Channel Zero, The SpitSlam Record Label Group, Rapstation, and Hip-Hop Gods Radio.

The design problem was information architecture: six distinct properties with their own identities and audiences, made to feel like one place without flattening what makes each one itself. I designed, developed, and maintain the site end-to-end.

It's the most recent chapter in a working relationship that goes back to 2002, spanning web properties and print packaging for one of hip-hop's most recognizable catalogs.
